Lexington PD investigating infants death

Lexington, SC (November 3, 2017) The Lexington Police Department said Friday the department is currently investigating an infant death that occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, November 3, 2017.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Industrial Dive, within the Hickory Hills Mobile Home Park, for an infant in possible cardiac arrest. When officers and EMS arrived on scene, they found a two week old male child who was non-responsive. The child was transported to the Lexington Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The Criminal Investigations Division has begun an infant death investigation and as is normal procedure, detectives are being assisted by the State Law Enforcement Division (S.L.E.D.) Crime Scene and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
