Kathy Condom, Barry Walker convincingly win re-election to Irmo council

Incumbents are only two candidates to receive more than 100 votes each

Irmo, SC (James Bowers) -Irmo Town Councilpersons Kathy Condom and Barry Walker have hung onto their seats this election cycle, easily besting a field of four challengers. Robert Wessinger, C Brent Chitwood, Kelly Busch, and Ed Wadelington also threw their hats in the ring to flank Mayor Hardy King and fellow council members Julius Waites and Mark Pouliot, but voters were faithful in the pair of incumbents.

According to preliminary numbers Condom led the charge with 235 votes, while Walker tallied 177. C Brent Chitwood was a distant third with 82 votes, while Robert Wessinger compiled 72 votes. Ed Wadelington and Kelly Busch brought up the rear with 43 and 31 votes respectively. Additionally, four write-in candidates received votes in Tuesday’s contest.

The Irmo Town Council gets back to business with a meeting on November 21.
