Family and friends plan search for missing man near Swansea
Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Friends and family members of Monday Hope Wingard plan to search for him on Tuesday, November 14th. He was last seen on Halloween. According to his family, Wingard has a history of seizures and recently suffered a head injury. He’s on vital prescription medicine, and as far as his loved ones know, he has not taken that medicine since he went missing.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has been working the case, but his family and friends would like to comb the area where they believe he was last in hopes of finding some trace of the missing man. They are asking that anyone who can, join them in the search.
According to Carla Rucker Meetze, Wingard’s niece, a community search is being organized that will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14th. The group plans to meet at 801 Basil Road in Swansea, SC. Meetze said that they would appreciate any help that they can get to completely search the area.
People willing to help should come dressed to walk through wooded areas. Long pants, boots, long sleeved shirts, and jackets are suggested. It would also be appropriate to wear some gloves and head gear as it is forecast to be cool. This search is not appropriate for small children.
If you are willing to help, but have questions, call Meetze at 803-968-3670.
