Field fire near Baker Mill Lake in Calhoun County requires Lexington County's assistance

Calhoun County, SC [Keegan Gault] – Lexington County fire service responded to assist Calhoun County firefighters with a field fire shortly after 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Fire officials stated that a fire occurred near Baker Mill Lake in Calhoun County threatening approximately 20 acres of land along with a building assumed to be a barn. Fire fighters were on the scene for several hours to ensure that the situation was under control along with South Carolina Forestry Commission. At least 30 hay bales have been destroyed by the fire.

The fire has been brought under control and no injuries have been reported.
