Partners provide Holiday event for Lexington, Richland children in foster care

Lexington, SC - Flourishing Families, in partnership with Southeastern Freight Lines, will host a Foster Care Community Christmas Celebration drop in from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at RADIUS Church, 300 W. Main St., Lexington.

Media is invited to this special event that will help foster families learn about resources in Lexington and Richland counties and enjoy the Christmas season with games, crafts, refreshments and goody bags for the children.

“It is wonderful that these two entities are coming together to provide Christmas for some of our children,” said Chrysti Shain, a public information officer with South Carolina Department of Social Services. “Across the state, we need foster homes. As of November 1, we need 111 more foster families in Lexington County and 198 homes in Richland County.”
