Coroner officially releases teen’s name who was killed today on Meadowfield Road near Gaston

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Thursday evening that she had positively identified the victim of a homicide that occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the 700 block of Meadowfield Road near Gaston. According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Rayshawn Q. Porterfield, 19, of Gaston was pronounced dead at the scene after being stabbed in the upper body.

According to Fisher’s office, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating, and one suspect is reportedly in custody. The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
