Deputies release the names of suspects in Irmo home invasion

Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) – A spokesman for the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the two suspects who were arrested this morning in connection to a home invasion in the unincorporated area of the Irmo Community.

According to Captain Adam Myrick, 18-year-old Quintrell Morris of Hopkins and 30-year-old Brandon Thompson of Columbia were both arrested in connection with the home invasion on Maple View Drive. Myrick said that multiple charges are forthcoming for both men.

The two men forced their way into a home at approximately 6:20 a.m. this morning and assaulted the occupants of the home. This included children that were in the residence. After deputies arrived, one of the suspects pointed a rifle at one of the deputies who then fired multiple shots at the suspect. No one was injured in that exchange.

The investigation into this incident continues, but investigators do not believe that the home was randomly selected.
