Lexington District One to dismiss staff early and cancel all Wednesday activities

LEXINGTON, S.C. — Lexington County School District One staff returned to work today, Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. Students return to school Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018.

After carefully monitoring the weather situation, considering the possibility of a snow, ice mix this afternoon/evening and consulting with Lexington County and Lexington County Emergency Preparedness officials, Lexington County School District One will dismiss staff at 12:30 p.m., as a precaution.

In addition, the district is canceling all meetings and events scheduled to take place at any Lexington District One school, performing arts center, field or other facility, as well as all district programs, athletic practices or events, adult education classes, other school or district-related meetings, events, or extra-curricular activities scheduled for day or evening today, Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, for all Lexington District One attendance areas.

Should plans change as district officials continue to monitor the potential impact of weather, the district will send out additional information to parents, staff and students through SchoolMessenger Communicate, the district’s telephone calling system.
