Chapin American Legion makes donation to Screaming Eagles
Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) The Chapin American Legion Post 193 recently presented a donation to Jenny Bowers, the director of the Chapin Screaming Eagles. The presentation was made by member Dave Schimsa during the Screaming Eagles Christmas with Santa program.
The Screaming Eagles is a program that helps special needs children have opportunities to participate in athletics. They have helped children enjoy many different sports such as soccer and baseball. They operate off donations and the ones they receive from people and organization like the American Legion are crucial to their support of the children.
The American Legion is founded on four pillars of Service: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. Each of these pillars encompasses a variety of programs that benefit our nation's veterans, its service members, their families, the youth of America and ordinary citizens.
