Congressman Wilson announces legislative priorities for new year
West Columbia, SC (Angelica Iglesias) – Congressman Joe Wilson held a district tour to announce his legislative priorities for 2018 Wednesday, January 3. The first stop was at the Congressman’s office in West Columbia at 10:00 am.
Congressman Wilson’s top priority is economic growth. He plans to do this by bringing more jobs into the state and reducing regulations on employers.
Next, Wilson plans to focus on the military and uniting the country. He supports President Trump’s promotion of “peace through strength” and expanding the military. He wants to protect programs, like TRICARE and the VA system, that help veterans, military personnel and their families.
The Congressman supports Dominion Energy, a Virginia-based company that plans to buy out SCANA. The power and energy company has pledged a refund of $1,000 to SCE&G customers and rate cuts.
As a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in Congress, Representative Wilson also backs Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, moving the United States Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
As a true conservative who supports policies with little government regulation, Congressman Wilson backs the successes the Trump administration has made, like passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the repeal of Net Neutrality. He also supports President Trump’s decision to continue the Keystone Pipeline project because it has increased Michelin production for $60,000 mining truck tires.
Representative Joe Wilson and his wife, Roxanne, plan to continue to support the Trump administrative and the Republican policies the government is moving toward.
