Short chase near South Congaree ends up with charges against both driver and passenger
South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – A short pursuit by Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies ended with both the driver and the passenger of the fleeing vehicle facing charges.
According to Colby Gallagher, spokesperson for the sheriff’s department, deputies attempted to pull a vehicle over for an illegal tag. Instead of stopping, the driver initiated a pursuit.Eventually, the car was stopped by the deputies, and both driver and passenger took off on foot. The sheriff’s K9 team responded, and they were able to locate both subjects.
Gallagher said that the driver is facing five traffic related charges and the passenger was cited and released for one charge.
