Pine Ridge Women’s Club going strong, accepting new members willing to get involved
Pine Ridge, SC (Jimmy Poluszek) - Charity is often called the lifeblood of any community. For that reason, the members of the Pine Ridge Women’s Club have continued to give back to the town of Pine Ridge and its surrounding areas for more than 40 years. During that time, they have sought to bring women together and equip them with the tools necessary to promote educational and social progress in their town, state, and nation. They have organized and held a multitude of service projects financed through fundraising efforts like the golf tournaments they've held in the past.
Recently, the Club won the trophy for “Best Float” in the Christmas Parade that was being held in Pine Ridge. In keeping with their theme of giving back to the community, the float resembled a bounty of Christmas presents and toys. That wasn’t their only project during the holiday season. The ladies also helped decorate the town hall and even provide Christmas gift baskets to families in need!
Right now, the club is open to any woman, regardless of age, who is interested in giving back to their community charitably. It’s also a great opportunity to meet and fellowship with other women. It meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month starting each September and continuing through May of the following spring. They do not meet during the hottest summer months. The meetings begin at 6:45 p.m. at Congaree Baptist Church which is located at 101 Pine Ridge Dr. in the Youth House. Currently, dues for the Club is $15 dollars per year.
