Lexington School District Two votes to terminate an assistant principal after executive session last
West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – A spokesperson for Lexington School District Two of Cayce and West Columbia has said that the board of trustees terminated one of the district’s assistant principals after an executive session at a meeting Monday night, Dawn Kujawa said by e-mail Tuesday before lunch. She did not specifically name the employee /administrator, whose name can be protected by privacy laws if no laws were broken.
In her statement, Kujawa said, “I can tell you that the board of trustees met in special session last night. Once the meeting opened they moved to executive session to discuss a personnel matter. About an hour later they reconvened in open session and publicly voted, without discussion, to follow the recommendation of the superintendent in terminating the employment of one of the district's assistant principals.”
Yesterday, Kujawa confirmed that popular Airport High School principal Brad Coleman and Assistant Principal Dawn Diimmler had both been placed on administrative leave. Kujawa didn’t say why the disciplinary actions were taken. She did not say if any action was taken against Coleman or if he had returned to work as the principal at AHS.
