Town of Chapin looking for someone to serve as town's attorney
Chapin, SC (Feb 12, 2018) – After meeting in executive session during the Tuesday, February 6th Council meeting, leaders of the Town of Chapin chose to move forward in selecting a new Chapin town attorney. They have been without a dedicated attorney for the last four years. During that period, when the need for an attorney would arise, the town would hire an attorney based on their specific needs. In other words, if they needed an attorney whose expertise was in real estate, they hired a practicing real estate attorney. If they needed an attorney to defend them in contractual matters, they hired a business attorney with those types of skills. The currently serving mayor, David Knight, served as the town’s attorney for more than 20 years.
Candidates qualified to represent the town as the attorney are encouraged to submit their resume for consideration. The town will accept inquiries and resumes within the next seven days, ending on February 18, 2018.
Those interested in the position of Chapin Town Attorney can express interest by e-mailing their resume to Mayor David Knight at dknight@chapinsc.com and Julie Hammond at julie@chapinsc.com. Any further inquiries may be addressed by calling 803-575-8504.
