Pine Ridge PD in the early stages of a death investigation

Pine Ridge, SC (Paul Kirby) The Pine Ridge Police Department is in the early stages of a death investigation in the small town. According to Interim Police Chief Eddie Powell, they are looking into the cause of death of a body that was located just off Fish Hatchery Road on Pine Ridge Drive near the rear entrance to the SC Emergency Management Division. Officers and employees of the Lexington County Coroner’s Office were working in the area of Pine Ridge Drive that is close to the new Midland’s Ballpark on the same side of the road.

The Pine Ridge Department is receiving assistance from a number of other agencies. Chief Powell said late Tuesday that he didn’t believe there was any immediate danger to the public as a result of the circumstances surrounding the death.
