Lexington sets Special Election timeline to fill Stambolitis' council seat
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Town of Lexington is moving quickly to hold the necessary special election to fill the seat on its council left open when long time councilman Ted Stambolitis resigned. They have confirmed with the Lexington County Registration and Elections Office the Special Election Timeline for that open seat on the council.
In accordance with law, the special election timeline is as follows:
The Special Election will be on May 29, 2018.
Petitions to run for this office must be turned in by 12:00 noon March 30, 2018.
In order to run, you must live within the town limits, be at least 18-years of age and be a registered voter. The rules and guidelines that cover most elections can be found at SCVOTES.org.
