Annual Acts Metro Empower Run takes place March 24th in Irmo

Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) - The annual Acts Metro Empower Run is coming on Saturday, March 24th at the Midlands Tech, Harbison Campus at 8am. The run consists of 1k, 5k and 10k races which start in 15-minute intervals. The Empower Run is the largest fundraiser of the year for Acts Metro, whose mission is to "empower families in crisis to move from despair and dependency to hope and self-sufficiency."

"As usual, the Empower Run will be a great event for great athletes, groups and families - including the family dog," said Race Director Kevin Bennett. "The course is world-class with addtional activies for people of all ages."

The run takes place in the Quail Valley Subdivision in the heart of Irmo. Acts Metro stands out as a unique local organization in helping those in need with direct financial assistance being just a small part of the equation for helping families in Lexington-Richland Five succeed, providing mentoring, financial assistance, and community resources to help families in Lexington-Richland District Five move from despair and dependency to hope and self-sufficiency

"Equipping families to create safe, healthy and spiritually connected homes does not happen solely by meeting their material needs," said Sean Brown of Acts Metro. "While Acts Metro does, indeed, meet these needs by connecting families with appropriate resources, the program places a strong priority on the emotional health and well-being of both adults and children by providing programs to help them heal, grow and move forward successfully."
