Irmo Fire District responds to house fire at 112 Aspen Court Saturday

No injuries in blaze; cause still under investigation

Irmo, SC (James Bowers) – The Irmo Fire District responded to a fire at a large single-family home in Irmo’s Hillcreek Subdivision Saturday. IFD Battalion Chief Brett Dominick says that his department was called to the fire at the Aspen Court property at 4:33 pm Saturday afternoon. Lexington County Fire Service, EMS, and the Columbia Fire Department assisted IFD by responding as well.

When the first firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home. Even though the combined crews quickly put out the fire, the home was destroyed as a result of the blaze. Dominick says there were no injuries to occupants or emergency responders.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Sunday. The exact dollar figure for the damages done to the home and the number of displaced residents are not known at this time. The Lexington Ledger will update the story as more information becomes available.
