Recycling event this Saturday at Batesburg-Leesville High School

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - The Town of Batesburg-Leesville is expecting a record number of participants this year at its annual E-Waste Recycling Event. Working with Lexington County Solid Waste, Advanced Disposal, and Lexington School District 3 the event will take place on Saturday, March 17th from 9am until 1pm at Batesburg-Leesville High School parking lot.
Residents will have the opportunity to dispose of computers, televisions, printers, stereos, other electronics, tires, and paper. Accepted items will include:
Tires – limit 8 per resident of Batesburg-Leesville. Must not be on rims and only passenger or light truck tires will be accepted. No commercial dealers will be allowed to dispose of tires.
Paper Shredding – paper only. No binders, books, or plastic-coated paper (magazines). Staples and paperclips are acceptable.
E-Waste – up to 8 items per visit from Lexington County residents and small businesses. Items can be computers, TV’s, copiers, VCR and DVD players, fax machines, telephone systems, cell phones household electronics including stereo’s, radio’s, PDA’s and electronic game systems. Electronic waste must have been generated in Lexington County for this event, and residents should keep electronics intact for the purpose of recycling.
Traffic along Mitchell St. near BLHS may be heavy at times, so please be patient and drive responsibly.
This event is in partnership with Advanced Disposal, Lexington County Solid Waste Management, Shred With Us, Palmetto Pride, and Lexington School District Three.
