Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast planned to be held at Applebee’s to support Meals-On-Wheels
Lexington, SC (Jimmy Poluszek) - Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar in Lexington is holding a Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast on March 26th to support the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission’s celebrating of the 16th annual March for Meals. That month-long initiative’s purpose is to build and strengthen community partnerships needed to enable programs to deliver nutritious meals. These aren’t just nutritious meals in the middle of the day, they are also friendly visits and safety checks to America’s seniors throughout the year.
On Monday, the doors at Lexington’s Applebees location will open at 8 a.m. and the event will last until 10 a.m. The price of admission is $7.00 dollars a person and anyone is free to come in and enjoy some flapjacks and help this worthy cause. Tickets can be bought right at the door. Members of the Aging Commission staff will be there to bus and wait the tables, but the role of cooking will rest on the shoulders of Applebee’s employees.
According to Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission’s Fundraiser Coordinator Donna Neel, this isn’t the first time that there has been a breakfast fundraiser of this type in Lexington. This event has been held a few times before, but not with Applebee’s exclusively. Last year, this same fundraiser was held at the Fatz Café on East Main Street. They have worked with both establishments in the past and this kind of event isn’t tethered to any specific establishment, just one that’s willing to help with the cause.
The Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast will be held in the Applebee’s at 605 Columbia Ave. For more information, you can call Donna Neel at (803) 356-5111. You can also email her at Dneel@Icrac.com.
