Chapin PD seeking help identifying man wanted in store robbery
Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) The Chapin Police Department has turned to the community for help in identifying a suspect who robbed a clerk at a Rainbow Gas Garden convenience store at 650 Columbia Ave. in Chapin. The robbery occurred on March 23rd at 5:50 a.m.
Watch the video closely. The man, dressed in all dark clothing and wearing a ball cap, comes behind the counter with the clerk. He has what looks like a 12-pack in his hand. He confronts the clerk very casually and eventually steals some unidentified items from the store. He is believed to have fled in a small silver car. He is described as a black male, 35-45 YOA, 5'9"-5'11", 170-190 lbs. There are pictures of the suspected getaway vehicle posted below.
