Sheriff’s investigator asking for help in assault investigation on Wesley Court
Pine Grove, SC (Paul Kirby) – A Lexington County man has been hospitalized after being attacked while he went out to retrieve his newspaper last week. During the assault, he was injured so severely that he had to be hospitalized. Now, the sheriff’s department is turning to the public for assistance in trying to find whoever perpetrated this seemingly random act of violence.
According to Captain Adam Myrick of the sheriff’s department, the man who is in his 60’s, went out to get the paper at about 5:30 a.m. at his home on Wesley Ct. between Red Bank, Oak Grove, and Pine Grove in the Cobbs Hill neighborhood. When he failed to return to his home, his wife found him laying in the road with significant injuries that appeared to be the result of an assault. He was transported to a local medical facility where he is being treated for broken ribs and a number of other injuries Myrick described as significant.
