Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – Palmetto Bone and Joint, along with the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce and the town of Chapin, held a ribbon cutting Friday afternoon to celebrate the completion and opening of their new office in Chapin. The facility, built at a cost of approximately 9 million dollars, is absolutely state-of-the-art, and is beautiful as well.
According to Dr. James Loging, one of the many orthopedic surgeons and specialists at Palmetto Bone and Joint, the Chapin office will not only offer full comprehensive treatment of bone, joint, and other orthopedic problems, they will also be able to do outpatient surgery in the office. This type of convenience makes recovery after a procedure more comfortable and can increase the speed at which a patient gets past their surgery and on with the healing process. Dr. Logging said that “their staff in Chapin will include doctors that have expertise in every aspect of orthopedic care. They can treat teens with sports injuries or geriatric patients who need total joint replacement or anyone who needs relief from acute or chronic bone and joint problems.”
One of their surgeons with the practice is Chapin High School graduate Dr. Mark Wilson. Dr. Wilson was being sought for his expertise by practices across the country but chose Palmetto Bone and Joint because it was being built in Chapin. As a Chapin native, Dr. Wilson knew that he wanted his children to have the wonderful opportunity to grow up in a community of character and quality like Chapin. Even though other practices wanted him across the nation, he contacted Palmetto Bone and Joint because he wanted to be a part of their team and come home to Chapin. They eagerly brought him on board!
According to their website, Palmetto Bone and Joint was established in 1994 to serve the communities of the Midlands and Upstate of South Carolina with state-of-the-art orthopedic medicine. Today, their orthopedic surgeons and staff provide exceptional, patient-centered orthopedic care from three locations, one in Clinton, one in Newberry, and now their newest location is in Chapin. The Chapin practice was built on need as they began to see more and more patients in their Newberry practice that were driving from Chapin, Irmo, and even Lexington.
