Overturned vehicle blocks the railroad tracks and Dooley Road Monday night
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) A small sedan overturned on Dooley Road right at the railroad tracks Monday night blocking both the tracks and the entire road for a short period of time. The car came to rest right at the tracks causing 911 operators to notify the railroad so they would stop any trains scheduled to pass until the car could be removed.
The accident happened after dark on Monday between Augusta Road and Two Notch on Dooley, a road that connects to Augusta Road right at the I-20 on/off ramp. The car came to rest on its roof, but all the vehicle’s occupants were able to get out of the car themselves. Fire and EMS units responded along with the police and all stood-by until the accident could be cleared. Once a wrecker responded and removed the vehicle, the all-clear was given to the railroad to resume their normal operations.
