Coroner identifies Lexington man as the victim of the motorcycle crash Friday night
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has now identified the man who died on Friday night in a single-vehicle motorcycle wreck on South Lake Drive. The accident happened at 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of South Lake and Pleasant View Drives. Fisher said Saturday that Rueben Wyatt Baughman, 31, of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. She said that Baughman was believed to have been wearing a helmet at the time of his crash.
Troopers from the SCHP said earlier in the day that Baughman apparently ran off the road, lost control of his motorcycle, and was thrown from the bike. Their investigation revealed that this was a single-vehicle accident.
