Motorcyclist killed on South Lake near Pleasant View Friday night

Edmund, SC (Paul Kirby) – A motorcyclist is dead after the rider lost control of the bike and spilled it on South Lake Drive near Pleasant View Dr. Friday night. The accident happened about 9:00 p.m. according to the SCHP.

Troopers say that a single rider was on a Suzuki motorcycle when that operator lost control of the bike, left the roadway, and went down. Troopers say that even though the rider was wearing a helmet, that person perished at the scene. Firefighters and EMS personnel did respond but there wasn’t anything they could do to help.

Personnel from the Lexington County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and are working to notify the rider’s family, then, and only then, will the name of the person who died be released.
