Kid's Day may cause traffic delays as families flock to Icehouse Amphitheater are for fun filled

Lexington, SC (April 26, 2018) – Chief Terrence Green announced Thursday that there will be a road closure and possible traffic delays due to the Kid’s Day of Lexington event at the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex, Icehouse Amphitheater and Virginia Hylton Park on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Maiden Lane will be closed to thru traffic during this event. The road closure will begin at 6:00 a.m. and this street will reopen at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Main Street private business parking lots off of Maiden Lane will still be open during this time and can be accessed from South Church Street at Maiden Lane.

The Kid’s Day of Lexington event begins at 10:00 a.m. and will end at 2:00 p.m. There may be some traffic delays in the area of South Lake Drive and Maiden Lane and at South Church Street at Maiden Lane as attendees of this event will be crossing back and forth across these streets from the Icehouse Amphitheater and the nearby parking lots.

Officers will be assisting in directing and stopping traffic during this event to ensure the safety of those in the crosswalk at South Lake Drive near Maiden Lane and on South Church Street at Maiden Lane.

It is advised that attendees please arrive early to find a parking space in the designated areas near this event at the Lexington County Courthouse and Lexington County Administration Building on South Lake Drive.

Those who choose to park in private business parking lots near the event take the risk of being towed at the owner’s expense.
