Doctor charged after sales representative is shot in Cayce
Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) A doctor who said that he accidentally shot a sales representative of a medical supply company at his home in Hunters Mill last year, has now been charged by the Cayce Department of Public Safety. According to a release from the department on Thursday, Dr. Adam Marcus Lazzarini, 46, turned himself in Thursday morning at the Lexington County Detention Center and was formally charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Obstructing Justice.
On October 9, 2017 Lazzarini shot and killed William Player Holland, DPS officials say. Holland died of a single gunshot wound to the chest at 256 Hunters Mill Dr. in the Three Fountains area of the city. Holland was a 2009 graduate of The Citadel and Lazzarini is an orthopedist at Southeastern Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine.
The city has scheduled a press conference for Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Cayce Department of Public Safety to provide more information to the press regarding the case.
