Hotel coming to heart of Main Street in downtown Lexington
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) It was announced Friday that Southern Visions Real Estate has facilitated the sale of a 1.4-acre lot located at 116 East Main Street, Lexington, in the heart of the town to a company that has plans to build a hotel on the property. The buyer was Lexington Hospitality, operated by the Champaneri family. According to our sources, they will build a Marriot branded hotel, perhaps a Spring Hill Suites, on the parcel.
This will be the crown jewel in the redevelopment that was ignited by the opening of the Icehouse Amphitheater. Since its opening, the older part of Lexington, specifically the areas closest to the venue, have been experiencing phenomenal high-end growth of both retail, professional, restaurants, and other businesses that are re-forming old Main Street into a destination for people of all ages who want to come, enjoy entertainment, shop, eat, and just soak in the ambiance that is Lexington. According to Lexington leaders, there’s more on the way, but this news is wonderful for the area. It will allow business visitors another choice within walking distance of everything and will also act as a place that revelers can walk to after enjoying any of the many quality events that are coming to the Icehouse in the future.
