Lexington PD holding safety belt checkpoints today
Lexington, SC (May 19, 2018) – Chief Terrence Green would like to notify the Town of Lexington community that the Lexington Police Department will be conducting a Public Safety Checkpoint along with safety belt enforcement saturations on Monday, May 21, 2018.
Officers will be conducting the Public Safety Checkpoint in response to collision incidents, Citizen Traffic Complaints, and previous enforcement in this area focused on speeding and unsafe driving practices. Officers will be checking driver’s licenses, vehicle registration, and insurance requirements.
As a participating agency in the “Buckle Up SC” campaign, officers will be conducting safety belt enforcement saturations to promote proper safety belt and child safety seat use.
