Lexington One, Lexington Two offer summer food service program

Lexington, SC - This summer, Lexington County School District One again participates in the Summer Food Service Program, a free program for children 18 years old and younger.

The program runs Monday through Thursday, June 11- July 26, 2018, with the exception of Wednesday, July 4.

The following locations will serve as meal sites this summer:

• Forts Pond Elementary, 7350 Fish Hatchery Road, Pelion, SC 29123, (803) 821-2500

• River Bluff High, 320 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072, (803) 821-0700

• Rosenwald Community Learning Center, 420 Hendrix Street, Lexington, SC 29072, (803) 821-1300

• White Knoll Elementary, 132 White Knoll Way, West Columbia, SC 29170, (803) 821-4500.

Children must eat their meals on site. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m., while lunch begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Sites offer meals on a first-come, first-served basis.

The program, federally funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered through the S.C. Department of Education and Lexington County School District One, provides and serves meals to children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

All meals meet federal nutrition standards, and this institution is an equal opportunity provider.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (AD-3027). Individuals can find the form online at https://www.ascr.usda.gov/ad-3027-usda-program-discrimination-complaint-form and at any USDA office. Individuals can also call (866) 632-9992 to request a copy of the complaint form or write a letter to the USDA and include in that letter all information requested in the form.

West Columbia, SC - Lexington Two and Sodexo have announced hours and locations for this summer’s federally funded child nutrition program that provides free, nutritious meals through the months when youth are out of school.

Children eligible to participate in the summer feeding program are those who are 18 years of age and younger, and age 19 and older with a physical or mental disability -- as defined by the SC Department of Education, those determined to be mentally or physically disabled and who participate during the school year in a public or private non-profit program for mentally or physically disabled persons.

In the Lexington Two area, Brookland Cayce High, Airport High, Pineview Elementary, Cayce Elementary, Pair Education Center, McGregor Downs, Brookland UMC, Excel Afterschool & Tutorial Program, Church of Christ, South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library and Turner Memorial AME Church will host the Seamless Summer Program.

Cayce Elementary

Excel Afterschool & Tutorial Program

South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library

When: Mondays, June 11-July 30 (closed week of July 4)

Meals: Lunch, 11:45-12:30 p.m.

Turner Memorial AME Church

Where: 1122 Monticello St.

When: Monday-Friday, June 6-Aug. 10 (closed July 4)

Meals: Lunch, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; snack, 2:30-3 p.m.

Sites are open on a first-come, first-served basis to all children of the community at large.
