Lexington Town Council race taken by Lyle

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – The open seat for Lexington Town Council was won today by Todd Lyle, a relator and attorney. Lyle won by just 30 votes to claim the seat. This was a special election for the seat that was left open after Ted Stambolitis, a local businessman who had held the seat for a number of years but moved outside the town’s limits, resigned.

All three candidates who filed to run, including local public defense attorney Bennett Casto, and Main Street business owner Jeremy Addy along with Lyle, seemed to agree on many of the town’s challenges and the solutions for them. For the most part, the key issues included traffic, planned growth, the importance of a business-friendly atmosphere that still protects the core values of Lexington, and parks and recreation. The candidates faced off in a forum arranged and hosted by the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and each had been on the Good Morning Lexington County morning program where they individually expressed their ideas for what was right for Lexington’s future.

After winning the election, Lyle said, “I’m very thankful to everyone who voted for me today and have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful Lexington folks and I look forward to working with the existing Council to serve the residents of Lexington. I look forward to helping make sure that Lexington grows the ‘right way.’”
