Ruptured gas line catches fire off Amick’s Ferry Road

Chapin, SC (Connor Radtke) – Around 2:20 on Wednesday afternoon Lexington County fire and EMS teams out of the Chapin area were dispatched to a gas line that ruptured causing a fire to erupt. This fire occurred near the 800 block Yacht Club Pt. close to Night Harbor Dr. off Amick’s Ferry Rd.

According to Harrison Cahill, spokesman for Lexington County, there were no structures threatened by the fire and there were no injuries reported. Fire crews requested SCE&G respond to cut the gas off and this put the fire out. The county reported the fire was under control just before 3pm.
