Lexington, SC (June 20, 2018) – Chief Terrence Green of the Lexington Police Department said Wednesday that the re-surfacing of Main Street, which is related to the SC-6 One-Way Pair Project, will continue for two additional nights to complete the repaving work.
The re-surfacing of Main Street, which is between the 100 block of West Main Street to the 200 block of East Main Street, began on Sunday, June 17, 2018, and will continue through the night of Thursday, June 21, 2018.
The overnight re-surfacing of Main Street and traffic detours will begin each night at 9:00 p.m. and work will be stopped at 6:00 a.m. each morning.
Traffic will resume as normal on Main Street throughout the day until work begins again each night for additional re-surfacing work.
Officers will continue to assist with the Main Street road closure each night and signed detours and roadway barricades and cones around the work area will be operational. Drivers are reminded to not drive around closed street barriers or cones in the roadway and those that do risk being issued a citation.
