Lexington PD makes arrest in weekend robbery
Lexington, SC (June 25, 2018) Chief Terrence Green announced the arrest of Matthew Broomhead, age 38 of Lexington, South Carolina, for an armed robbery that occurred at the CVS Pharmacy located at 5608 Sunset Blvd on Sunday, June 24, 2018.
At approximately 5:00 a.m., Matthew Broomhead went into the CVS Pharmacy wearing a black bandana across his face and demanded OxyCotin from the pharmacist. The pharmacist believed that he was armed as he had his hand in his pocket and by the way he was standing. The pharmacist complied to the demand and gave Matthew Broomhead multiple bottles of OxyContin. He then fled from the CVS Pharmacy in a vehicle. No one was injured in this incident.
After investigation, Matthew Broomhead was arrested at his residence with the assistance of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and all bottles of OxyContin were recovered. Matthew Broomhead was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center for booking procedures.
During Bond Court on Monday, June 25, 2018, Matthew Broomhead was given a bond of $10,000 for the charge of Armed Robbery.
