Residence burns off Reynolds Drive Sunday morning

Pine Ridge, SC (Paul Kirby) – A home on Reynolds Drive caught fire and burned about 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning. The first fire crews that arrived on the scene reported that the home was more than 25% involved when they pulled up. Firefighters from Edmund, South Congaree, Pine Grove, Sharpe’s Hill, and several other stations responded. They used water tankers to carry water to the scene to supply the crew members that were fighting the fire.

At one point, the commander on the scene received word that a squatter may have been living in the home, but a thorough search revealed that the home was cleared. It took just a little time to put the fire out, but firefighters stayed on the scene for several hours more making sure that all the hot-spots were extinguished. The commander in charged also called the sheriff’s department to make a report on what was described as a suspicious fire.

The fire service hasn’t released and estimated loss, however the home is considered a totaled. There is no word on the status of the fire investigation.
