Sheriff’s deputies looking for booze thief

St. Andrews, SC (Paul Kirby) – Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for a thief who grabbed several bottles of booze from a store and then just dashed out with them while the employees stood helplessly by. This all happened on Saint Andrew Road near Irmo. Now, deputies are asking for the community's help in identifying the thirsty man who made no attempt to conceal his identity. He was clearly caught on surveillance footage from inside the store. He is a young black man who was wearing a ball cap with a Carolina Panthers logo, a white shirt, and dark-colored shorts pants.

Back in early June, the man walks in the store just like any other customer, makes his selection, walks up to the counter as if he’s going to pay for the multiple bottles he has, and then he just dashes out of the store. Before he hands over any money, he just turns and runs out. The store employee does make a grab for him, but he was just too quick and made a hasty getaway with the booze in his arms.

If this man looks familiar to you, please notify the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230.
