SCHP says pickup truck crossed center line causing fatal wreck Friday morning

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lance Corporal David Jones of the SCHP said Friday afternoon that the driver of the 2008 Dodge truck was found to be at fault in the wreck that killed the driver of the other vehicle Friday morning. Jones said that the Dodge was heading south on Nazareth Road near Crumpton Court when it crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic striking a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, killing the Jeep’s driver. That individual was wearing a seatbelt when the head-on accident occurred.

Jones said that the driver of the Dodge was seriously injured during the crash. That driver remains in the hospital as of Friday afternoon. Jones did say that the accident remains under investigation by the SCHP. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher hasn’t released the name of the deceased driver at this point.
