Quick Trip 3 convenience store held up in Springdale

Springdale, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Quick Trip 3 convenience store on Platt Springs Rd. across from the town hall and police department was robbed by a single individual Tuesday morning. The armed robbery took place around 11 a.m. According to Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett, he believes that this is the same man who has robbed that store once before. Cornett said that the man is in and out of the store in seconds. He presents a weapon, demands cash, and then flees in a vehicle.

The man is described as a black male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, tan or light colored pants or jeans, and a cap with either a Chicago Bulls or similar bull or steers sports logo. He fled the scene in a late 2000 model Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck that is dark gray, has distinctive custom chrome rims, a chrome or polished aluminum tool box, and a chrome gas cap. He was armed with a handgun-that description has not been released. Cornett says they have good photos and video of the robber and is working to release those soon.

If you know who this is or think you might, please do not approach him. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Instead, call (803) 785-2521 or report it to CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME SC. You can also use the internet to make tips at or download their P3 app in either of the app stores.
