Congressman from Springdale grateful to see medical device tax go
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Joe Wilson, a Republican from Springdale, SC, was very supportive during the entire effort to repeal a portion of the Obamacare act that would take away taxes on medical devices. His support helped the House repeal that through H.R. 184, the Protect Medical Innovation Act. This legislation repealed the medical device excise tax that was imposed by Obamacare.
In his statement Congressman Wilson said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to be an original cosponsor of the Protect Medical Innovation Act. Obamacare’s burdensome tax on medical devices has stifled medical advancements and destroyed jobs. Millions of Americans rely on pacemakers, artificial joints, CAT scan machines, and more for their medical care and quality of life. More taxes are not the answer to affordable healthcare options for American families.”
