Man sentenced after breaking into occupied home of Tidwell Jeweler’s principals
Eleventh Judicial Circuit (Paul Kirby) - Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Rick Hubbard announced last week that Robert Goodwin, Jr., age 29, entered into a guilty plea for his part in a home invasion and other crimes that occurred at the home of the owners of Tidwell Jewelers. Tidwell Jewelers is a successful family owned business with locations in Batesburg-Leesville, Saluda, and Johnston. Goodwin was sentenced to 45 years in prison for his role in the Saluda County home invasion. The home that he violated with his accomplice was that of Lynda and Danny Tidwell.
Goodwin pled guilty to Burglary, first degree, Armed Robbery, two counts of Kidnapping, and Criminal Conspiracy. His co-defendant was Abin Lee Lowman, who did not reach a plea agreement with prosecutors. Lowman was found guilty at trial in Saluda County during the week of June 18, 2018. He was sentenced to life in prison.
