Breaking: Elderly woman shot at ATM in West Columbia Saturday morning

West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – An elderly woman has been shot while at an ATM near the Big Lots on Augusta Road near the intersection of Wattling Road. According to Assistant Chief Scott Morrison of the West Columbia PD, the woman was at the ATM when she was approached, shot, and robbed before the suspect fled. Her woman's wound appears to be non-life threatening.

Police are currently searching the area around that shopping plaza and up to the US #1 Flea Market. They are receiving assistance from other law enforcement agencies.
