Lexington, SC (September 5, 2018) – Chief Terrence Green announced Wednesday the arrests of four suspects who were involved in a series of auto tampering and theft from motor vehicle incidents which involved over fifty unsecured vehicles within the Town of Lexington. These incidents occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 19, 2018 and the items stolen included several handguns, a hunting rifle, credit cards, sunglasses, purses, wallets, prescription pills and mobile phones.
Kerrion Daquan Feagins, age 17 of West Columbia, South Carolina and Shaniyah Raven Riley, age 18 of Gaston, South Carolina have each been charged with eleven counts of Theft from Motor Vehicle, three counts of Auto Tampering, fourteen counts of Criminal Conspiracy and one charge of Financial Transaction Credit Card Fraud for purchases made with credit cards that were stolen during these incidents.
Two juvenile males, age 15 and age 16 of Columbia, South Carolina have also been charged and these cases have been sent to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and the 11th Circuit Solicitors Office for follow up through Family Court.
Chief Terrence Green said, “These arrests close out cases that affected dozens of residents in six neighborhoods within the Town of Lexington and it also highlights the need for everyone to remember the importance daily of safeguarding items of value by removing them from your vehicle and ensuring that car doors are locked every night.”
Kerrion Feagins was arrested on August 29, 2018 and then taken to the Lexington County Detention Center. He was given a bond of $29,000 with a requirement of GPS monitoring when released from jail.
Shaniyah Raven Riley was arrested on September 5, 2018 and taken to the Lexington County Detention Center. She was given a bond of $70,762.
