Truck driver smashes his way out of lot to make off with a used truck

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – A desperate thief stole a used pickup from a lot near South Congaree over the weekend doing thousands of dollars of damage to other vehicles and property while perpetrating the crime. According to the dealership owner, the truck was a black 2500 Chevrolet Silverado. In order to escape, without anyone actively chasing him, the driver smashed against four other cars and barreled through a locked gate. What’s left of the stolen truck hadn’t been located as of Sunday evening.

The crime occurred on East Steel Road between Pine Street and Platt Springs Road. Although the entire lot has high-quality security cameras, it’s not sure if the crook was caught on camera. The owner of the business said it would have been cheaper to let the crook have the truck than to fix all the senseless damage he did while making his crazy getaway.
