Lexington County Council recognizes Midlands baseball teams

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Players from the Midlands Minor and Coach’s Pitch baseball teams were presented a recognition for their achievements in recent Dixie Youth baseball tournaments by the Lexington County Council at a meeting last week. The Midlands Minor team won their World Series, while the Midlands Coach’s Pitch team finished 4th out of 4,000 teams, according to the coaches in attendance.

Each player from both teams was presented a plaque from Council commending and acknowledging their achievements. Councilmember Todd Cullum, who represents the area that the Midlands ballparks are in and Councilmember Scott Whetstone, an avid sports fan who has coached his own son in little league sports, made the presentations on behalf of the council.
