Lexington School District 3 Collects Donations for Marlboro County School District residents
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - During the last few weeks of September, students and staff members in Lexington County School District Three rallied together to collect non-perishable food items and supplies for residents living in the Marlboro County School District.
The efforts came after Dr. Gregory McCord, Superintendent of Marlboro County School District, reached out to administrators in Lexington Three and other neighboring school districts immediately following Hurricane Florence. He said the residents of his district had been hit very hard and were in desperate need of relief items such as toiletries, diapers, cleaning supplies and food.
Staff and students at all four of Lexington Three’s schools, as well as employees of the District Office and Lifelong Learning Center, eagerly stepped up to the challenge, with faculty at B-L Elementary School even hosting a “baby shower” for Marlboro County residents, bringing in items such as diapers, wipes, diaper ointment and baby food.
A special thanks goes out to everyone who contributed to this great cause.
