Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Greater Chapin area Chamber of Commerce has hired a new executive director. Rebecca Blackburn Hines joined the chamber this month after former director Christina Chappell resigned to take another position elsewhere. Hines received a B.A. in Mass Media Communications from the College of Charleston and Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law.
As a former owner of a small, local, brick and mortar business called Bowties & Petticoats that sold children’s clothing, Rebecca understands and appreciates the importance of a supportive Chamber. She strives to provide added value to each member of the Chapin Chamber. She is an active participant in the Chapin community, a regular volunteer of Good Works, and a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. Rebecca resides in Chapin with her husband Derrick and her two young daughters, Harper and Molly.
In a recent interview, Rebecca said she’s excited to help our community and business owners and provide resources that will help promote and further their businesses. She looks forward to getting out and meeting with all the businesses in the area and meeting their owners and employees.
