BB gun found at River Bluff High School

Lexington, SC (Angelica Iglesias) - River Bluff High School received two telephone calls this afternoon, November 2, alleging that there was a gun on campus with one of the messages including a possible location within the school.

Lexington Police Department School Resource Officers and River Bluff administrators immediately searched the area mentioned and found a BB pistol hidden there.

This incident occurred shortly after two 14-year-old male students got into a fight in the hall at approximately 12:30 p.m. Acting in accordance with Board Policy and district procedure, administrators at River Bluff contacted the students’ parents/guardians, suspended the students, and filed an incident report with the Lexington Police Department through the School Resource Officer.

Lexington PD and Lexington District One are asking students not to pass along rumors they are hearing but, rather, to report them to a school administrator or the School Resource Officer. Anyone with information can also call Corporal Nic Beza at (803) 358-1414.

The district also has a Tip Line at (803) 636-8317 where students can anonymously report concerns. Students can access the Tip Line online, by telephone, by texting information or by emailing details of your concern to 1607@alert1.us.com.

River Bluff High School administrators and the Lexington Police Department are still investigating both incidents.
