Board approves one promotion and one hire
During the Tuesday, October 16, 2018 Board Meeting, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved the hire of Eric D. Robinson and the promotion of J. Ranse Snipes to the positions of senior systems analyst in Information Technology. Eric Robinson comes to the district’s Information Technology Office from South Carolina Electric & Gas, where he worked as an operations analyst since 2014. He began his information technology career with SCANA in 1996 as an analyst programmer, working to update existing technology and optimize vital systems. In 2012, SCANA promoted Robinson to application developer, where he held the responsibility of executing an extensive data migration from an aging system to a new one. His other operations experience includes inventory control, supply chain management and asset management. Robinson graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Arts in history.
Ranse Snipes will serve as Information Technology liaison for supporting BusinessPlus! with Fiscal Services and Human Resources. A member of Lexington District One since 2012, Ranse Snipes joined information technology as an intern. The district hired him full time as a computer technician in 2013. In that role, he assisted students and teachers with work orders, troubleshooting and other technical issues. Following a promotion to systems analyst in 2016, Snipes maintained and developed software applications used by district employees, including Destiny Library Manager and BusinessPLUS!. Snipes earned an Associate of Science degree in computer technology, specializing in database development, from Midlands Technical College.
