Man who received gunshot wound Friday in Swansea dies
Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said that a Gaston man who received a gunshot wound at the BP station in the 100 block of North Church Street in Swansea Friday night has now died as a result of his wound. This incident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. on November 23, 2018.
Fisher said that Harry Lee Jackson, Jr., 34, was pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time after being transported from the scene by Lexington County EMS. Their crew was assisted by Lexington County firefighters. Multiple law enforcement officers were also on the scene after this occurred.
Swansea Police Chief Cliff Hayes said Friday night that he had turned the investigation of the shooting over to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. A spokesman for the department said that they are not seeking any person of interest in the case. They are continuing with their investigating.
